224 Unit Apartment Complex – Las Palmas to Cherokee Ave

Jamison Services is set to start building a 224-unit apartment complex in Hollywood, a significant project that has been overshadowed by recent controversy that has surrounded the company and its founder.

The family firm has cleared a parking lot at the one-acre site, which spans mid-block from Las Palmas to Cherokee avenues, between Hollywood Boulevard and Yucca Street, according to Urbanize, which first reported on the development.

Re-developement of the Crossroads of the World

The redevelopment of Crossroads of the World—one of the highest-profile projects in booming Hollywood—is poised to bring 950 units of new housing to Sunset Boulevard. But, in order to that, it will bulldoze 82 rent-controlled apartments.

The day before the city’s planning commission was scheduled to review the project—Los Angeles City Councilmember Mitch O’Farrell announced he had struck a deal with the developer to help some tenants who would be displaced by construction.

Mill Creek Residential has taken a big step forward with its planned 276-unit mixed-use project in Hollywood.

The city has published its environmental review for the Modera Argyle, wrapping up a year-and-a-half-long process that sets it up for a final vote. The public can still appeal the findings of the city’s Draft Environmental Impact Review report.
